Thank you to everyone who joined us on Sunday, January 26, 2025, for the screening of Terezin by Italian director Gabriele Guidi. We gathered with members, friends, and the community at the Dante Alighieri Society of Michigan to reflect on the powerful story of Antonio and Martina, whose love and resilience mirrored the experiences of countless artists and intellectuals detained in the Terezin ghetto during World War II.
This event was a cinematic experience and a moment of remembrance and education in honor of Giorno della Memoria (Holocaust Remembrance Day). The stories of those who suffered and the legacy of artistic expression, such as the remarkable drawings by children in Terezin, serve as a solemn reminder of the past and a call to uphold tolerance, peace, and historical awareness.
Organized with the Consulate of Italy in Detroit and the Dante Alighieri Society of Michigan.
