In Detroit, during the Pistons’ final home game, marking their return to the playoffs after six years, over 250 Italians celebrated Made in Italy at Little Caesars Arena. The event, organized by the Consulate of Italy and the Dante Alighieri Society of Michigan, featured 50 Italian excellence representatives competing in a mini-basketball tournament, commemorating Made in Italy Day and the UN’s International Day of Sport.
IlDetroiter, a new newspaper for the Italian community in Michigan, was introduced, with its cover dedicated to Simone Fontecchio, a Pistons forward. All participants attended the Pistons’ game, after which Fontecchio awarded the tournament winners and met with the community.
Consul Allegra Baistrocchi emphasized the value of Made in Italy as a symbol of quality and innovation, strengthening ties between Italy and Detroit through sport and culture.
Thanks go to the supporters: Italdesign, Marposs, Mayco, PIME, and Wedoo.
