The IX Week Italian Cuisine in the World theme is “Mediterranean Diet and Heritage Cuisine: Health and Tradition.”
This year’s theme aims to showcase Italian cuisine by emphasizing its traditions and the recognized role of the Mediterranean Diet in promoting health within the context of a healthy, balanced, and sustainable lifestyle.
Traditions will be emphasized in conjunction with the Roots Tourism program, which aims to showcase the role of our communities abroad in spreading Italy’s agri-food heritage worldwide.

We all know how deeply food connects to traditions, memories, and heritage.
For this event, we have scheduled the 1996 film Big Night screening.
Big Night tells the story of two Italian brothers who opened a restaurant in the United States in the 1950s. Primo, a talented chef, insists on authentic Italian cuisine, while Secondo tries to save the restaurant from financial struggles. To do so, they organize a special dinner, hoping to gain attention and success. The film explores the connection between food, culture, and identity, highlighting the tension between tradition and modernity.
During the event, we will host a potluck, a moment to share our traditional Italian dishes.
We invite participants to indicate what they will bring and contribute with a dish representing their culinary heritage.
