A Journey Through the Music and Wines of Italy

Friday, November 13, 2026 · Open Door 6:00 PM – Program starts at 6:30 PM
Marygrove Conservancy – Denk Chapman Hall
8425 W McNichols Rd, Detroit, MI 48221

Italy gave the world two extraordinary traditions: opera and wine. On November 13, we bring them together for a special evening celebrating the sounds, flavors, and regions of Italy.
In collaboration with Detroit Opera, talented artists from the Detroit Opera Resident Artist Program will perform beloved arias from the Italian operatic repertoire.

Nathalie Doucet, Head of Music and Director of the Detroit Opera Resident Artist Program, will curate the musical journey and guide us through the works of some of Italy’s great composers.

The arias of Rossini, Puccini, Verdi, Catalani, and Cilea will be paired with Italian wines from the regions represented by the composers and their stories, creating a dialogue between music and wine, and between artistic tradition and terroir.
We will travel through Italy with our ears and our palates — discovering the character of its regions through the notes of an aria and the notes in a glass.
One country. Two extraordinary traditions. One unforgettable evening.
