Join us for an evening of laughter and imagination with A Colpi di Maschera!, a lively tribute to Italy’s Commedia dell’Arte, reimagined with a contemporary pop twist.
Arlecchino and Brighella are preparing an important dinner at Colombina’s inn—but their guests, the audience, arrive early!
To entertain them, the characters stage a Shakespeare-inspired adventure featuring a stolen throne, an imprisoned queen, and a royal ghost. What follows is a playful mix of traditional leather masks, physical comedy, improvisation, music, and references to cinema.
Written, directed, and performed by Nicola Adobati and Domenico Piscopo, with Martina Cavagnoli, this approximately 60-minute performance uses expressive gestures and physical storytelling to engage audiences of different ages and language backgrounds.
Children are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes if they wish! Pizza will also be served.
Presented as part of the 2026 Week of the Italian Language in the World, through the Education Office of the Consulate General of Italy in Chicago and the Consulate of Italy in Detroit, in collaboration with Dante Al;ighieri Society of Michigan.
Space is limited, and registration is required. Please register to attend.
