Magic Italian Lab is an event for the younger generation, with activities about Italy, fairytale reading, dancing, crafts, snacks, and a film screening (ages 3 and up). Climate change is tough to discuss with kids, but this workshop and a kid-friendly movie are excellent ways to start the conversation.
Exposing children to global warming inspires them to do their part to preserve the planet. Our Children Will Change the World!

TRANSFORMING TRASH - 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.
Transforming Trash is a 1-hour workshop exploring the potential of plastic recycling, led by Simon Anton, an internationally exhibiting artist and founder of the design practice Thing Thing. Anton will give a presentation on the many ways plastic waste can be turned into functional art, and then he will lead the participants in an art exercise that will have them imagining creative objects in their own lives. Finally, participants will be given the opportunity to contribute to the creation of a recycled plastic art piece!
Optional: Workshop participants are invited to bring their own plastic waste to contribute to the art! We accept #2 HDPE Plastic; common objects include dish soap, laundry detergent, toys, etc - the more colorful, the better. Please wash plastic thoroughly beforehand. Limit three items per participant.
