DTour is a dynamic, self-contained group from the heart of Detroit. Their love of music and the arts is evident in their natural expressions while on stage. The group has a unique blend of music that embodies the vibrant inventiveness and sense of community that defines the sound of Detroit, featuring Motown, R&B with a dash of contemporary music and Jazz. The confidence and abilities to handle any crowd have formed a visceral connection with their audiences throughout the Midwest and a local reputation for fun, high-energy live shows.

History notes:

The Società Dante Alighieri‘s inaugural meeting of the Michigan Chapter was held on December 21, 1924, at the Detroit Public Library Main Branch. The guiding purpose was “to promote Italian cultural programs.”

Our membership reflects all nationalities, vocations, and ages of persons interested in the Italian language and culture. The Dante Alighieri Society – Michigan Chapter is a 501(c)(3) Non-profit Organization. All member dues are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

The Società Dante Alighieri Headquarters was established in Rome, Italy, by Royal Decree in 1893 by King Umberto I di Savoia. It is named in honor of II Sommo Poeta Fiorentino, Dante Alighieri (1265-1321), who created the pillars of Italian literature and language and profoundly affected Western civilization with the universality of his wisdom.
