In September 2022, at the vibrant beating heart of downtown Detroit during its liveliest month, in simultaneous collaboration with Detroit Month of Design, NAIAS, Detroit Jazz Festival, Dlectricity and more, we are bringing to the city LoveITDetroit, an active design, innovation and architectural exhibition like nothing Detroit has experienced before.
More Italy in Detroit. More Detroit in Italy. In highly experiential, collaborative, passion fueled, multidimensional, multi-sensory, extraordinary ways.
For the first time ever, the Consulate of Italy in Detroit, in collaboration with the Dante Alighieri Society of Michigan, will participate in Detroit Month of Design with LoveITDetroit. 30 days of completely uninhibited exploration, showcasing and demonstrating the works of some of the most influential Italian and Detroit leaders of industry, along with innovation themes as never before in a breathtaking physical environment designed by renowned Italian architect and designer, Roberto Palomba. To further astonish attendees, LoveITDetroit will also take place in the Metaverse.
We’re curating magnificence in collaboration with some of the most spectacular Italian and Detroit brands, designers and innovators today, diving into myriad design topics.
This is your opportunity to volunteer for LoveITDetroit – featuring and collaborating a compendium of extraordinary Italian and Detroit brands, designs and people, to deliver an experience unlike anything the world has seen before.
Organized by the Consulate of Italy in Detroit in collaboration with the Dante Alighieri Society of Michigan.
One Program: 30 days – 4 weeks
– Activities from September 1, 2022, to September 30, 2022
– Time: from 10:00am to 5:00pm
Commitment for each volunteer: 7-10-12 days – 10:00am-5:00pm – Expenses refund -$300-$500 plus parking ((Forfait based on the number of committed days).
Application deadline: no later than August 25, 2022.
You must be between 18 and 25 and you must possess a good communicative skill.
Those accepted will work for 10-12 days – 10:00am-5:00pm.
The program is open to all volunteers without distinction of sex, race, religion, political opinion, or social conditions.
Candidates who participated in DAS volunteering programs are eligible, and strongly encouraged to apply.
The program will offer to you:
~~ For the entire program you’ll be engaging with Italian and Detroit-based companies, gaining insight into a variety of different industries as you assist in managing the event proceedings.
~~ A great cultural and linguistic experience.
~~ Free parking and $300-$500 expenses refund (Forfait based on the number of committed days)
You’ll be expected to do the following:
~~ work together with volunteers to follow activities programmed by the host organizations;
~~ greet guests, hand out info if necessary;
~~ you will be instructed on the installation so you can answer questions), remind people not to touch things, have an eye out so that people don’t touch or steal;
~~ complete a survey on your experiences after the program is finished.
