The Dante Alighieri Society is your gateway to Il Mondo in Italiano ... the culture, language, food, wine, history, art, opera, music, cinema, fashion and industry of Italy.

The Dante Alighieri Society - Michigan Chapter, promotes the Italian language and culture in its territory. The Michigan Chapter is part of the worldwide Società Dante Alighieri, based in Rome, Italy. The society takes its name from the poet Dante Alighieri, author of the Divine Comedy and one of the fathers of the Italian language.

Dante Alighieri Society members have access to a wealth of rich cultural and networking events, guided trips to Italy, discounts on participating hotels in Italy, discounts on Italian language classes and other benefits. Membership is open to all who share an interest in the language and culture of Il Bel Paese.

Italian Film Festival USA

Wednesday, April 2rd to Sunday, April 27th, 2014.
The Italian Film Festival USA brings contemporary Italian films to the U.S., with the goal of providing to the public the opportunity to see films that have not yet and may never be seen locally. Dante Alighieri Society Michigan Chapter is a proud sponsor of the Italian Film Festival in Detroit.

Opening Night April 2 at 7pm | Detroit Film Theatre at the Detroit Insiitute of Art |5200 Woodward Avnue Detroit.

Luigi Datome, Italian Basketball player for the Detroit PistonsLuigi will help in our fundraising efforts to preserve and reinforce the AP Italian Language and Culture Programs.
The proceeds of this event will cover the registration costs of the 2014 Italian AP exam for DAS students.
This event is organized in the context of the activities monitored by the "Osservatorio" for the promotion of the Italian Language in the District of Detroit with the purpose of promoting the Italian Language AP program.
